Car Care Clinic

Partnering with Gran Touring Motorsports (a Motorsports Enthusiast organization based in Maryland), NMSA is proud to present Students and their Families the opportunity to join them for an Car Care Clinic at their local high school or college. The Team from GTM will present an in-classroom informational seminar, along with a hands-on lab. Our Level-1 course covers the following basic car care topics:

  • Identifying your major under hood components
  • Guidance on routine maintenance: Oil changes, Brakes, etc.
  • Understanding tires: Changing a Flat, Checking Pressures, Checking Treadwear
  • Checking Fluids: identifying colors, smells, and when to replace them
  • Electronics: Visual inspection of lights, Changing bulbs, locating the battery, alternator and starter.
  • How to “jump start” a vehicle
  • Proper use and identification of OEM roadside tools
  • Glossary of Automotive Terms
  • and more!

Generally 3-4 hrs. 90 minutes classroom, 90+ minutes of outside lab work (weather permitting).

$25 per vehicle for Level-1 & 2 (separately).

Level-1: The Basics
Level-2: Advanced Automotive Maintenance
Level-3: Advanced Driving Techniques & Street Survival Prep.
